The 9th Hong Kong Abilympics 2015

Organised by the Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the 9th Hong Kong Abilympics 2015 will be held on 27 June 2015. "Abilympics" is the combined word of "Ability" and "Olympics". It is used as the name of the skills competition for persons with disabilities. The Hong Kong Abilympics has been held every 4 years, which aims to improve vocational skills, boost motivation to participate in socio-economic activities, and to promote stability by accelerating the employment rate of persons with disabilities.

The competition includes 45 contests with different skill categories. The Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong will assist in organising the 10 contests in the 9th Hong Kong Abilympics, including Floral Arrangement, Painting, Pottery, Waste Reuse, Poster Design, Photography (Studio), Photography (Outdoor), Hand Knitting, Embroidery and Wood Carving.

Some winners may have the opportunity to join the 9th International Abilympics which held in March 2016 in Bordeaux, France as Hong Kong representatives.
