ADA's Views on the Implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) in Hong Kong

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) has entered into force for the People's Repulib of China, including the HKSAR, since 31 August 2008. The purpose of the UNCRPD is to promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights and fundamental freedoms by all persons with disabilities, and to promote respect for their inherent dignity. After implementing the UNCRPD for 2 years, the HKSAR has prepared an outline of the HKSAR's initial report and invite different views on the implementation of the UNCRPD in Hong Kong.

 

We have been working untiringly to promote equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in particiapting arts activities. And we have submitted our views on the captioned issue to the Labour and Welfare Bureau regarding the current situation of arts with the disabilities recently.
